Q18 Program

Ages 6 – 12 as of December 31, 2017 (born in 2005 – 2011)

The Q18 program introduces the children to the Snow Stars program; a seven-step program that guides children and coaches through a progression of skills. The goal for this program is for the children to learn the basics of the sport through miles of skiing, friendly competition and to promote a lifelong interest in the sport. Coach:Athlete 6:1

– Children ski with their group from 9:15 am – 3:00 pm.
– This includes a 45 minute lunch (children return to their parents).
– The program has a two 2 day Christmas camps and ends with a 2 day weekend camp.
– The placement of these consecutive days is to maximize skill development.
– Monthly Cookie Cup Club Race – friendly competition.
– Families choose between Saturday OR Sunday programming.
– If your child needs assistance loading the chairlift, a parent may be requested to assist.
– Volunteering Required 6 hours, and at least 1 Cookie Cup – per child

Total of 18 days on Snow Program includes: Coaching days, report cards & support material

Cost: $1095

Additional Costs include:
– Alberta Alpine Athlete registration – $105-$115
– Family membership with the Banff Alpine Racers – $150 (per family).

Q18 Development 

Program open to 12 – 15 year old athletes that want to continue their skill development, while learning the fundamentals of coaching. This program allows older athletes who are not longer committed to racing, to continue personal development while working with mentors. The program gives children an opportunity to gain the tools required to become a Ski Instructor/Coach. Once the child is 14 years old they are given the chance to work as a tail gunner with an experienced coach. Membership with the Club can take a child from Kindergarten to University if they so choose.  This program is open on Saturday’s only

Q22 Evolve

Not sure if you and your child are ready to begin racing?

Q22 is a program that introduces the athletes to more race skills that the regular Q18 program.  Athletes will engage in a regular Q18 program dates with 1 weekend a month training on both Saturday and Sunday.  These consecutive days allow the coaches to work with the athletes more specifically on race technique, tactics, and course understanding.  The program is coached by ex-racers who have experience within the race scene.  The kids will compete in 1 race within the valley, additionally Cookie Cup races held at Norquay.  Coach:Athlete 6:1

– Racer Account covers away race fees $100
